The Old Hen House comprises two bedrooms (a large double with Kingsize bed and a smaller second room with a bunk bed). There's also a shared bathroom and large open plan lounge/diner and kitchen.

There is underfloor heating throughout.

 

In 2019 we refurbished the cottage with new sofas, dining table and soft furnishings in the living area. We've put in new bedroom furniture, new French windows and installed higher-spec tech.

In 2020 we installed a dedicated EV charging point, dedicated garden area, and southeast facing "breakfast patio".

In 2023, we refitted the bathroom with a P shape bath and rain/combi shower, mirror with light and electric socket for shaver and toothbrushes, as well as an immense heated towel rail! 

 

The kitchen includes a halogen hob, electric cooker, microwave, combi washing machine/drier and fridge with mini freezer. There is no dishwasher (at the moment) although we are working on that! 

 

The lounge/diner includes a TV with Fire Stick and inbuilt DVD player, and blue-tooth speaker.  There are two cosy sofas, ottoman and corner table. There is also a dining table and six dining chairs. 

 

The large bedroom has a king-sized bed and French doors leading onto the terrace.  The second bedroom has long single bunk beds, sturdy enough for adults.

 

The cottage floor is tiled throughout and enjoys under-floor heating (and endless hot water), powered by solar panels and backed up with oil.  There is Wi-Fi throughout.

 

Outside, there is a private sunny terrace with a Webber barbecue, fire pit, a large outdoor table and six chairs. We've also marked out a private garden for our guests, providing more sunshine throughout the evenings.

 

Parking is available for two cars.

 

Dogs are welcome – by prior arrangement – and at a cost of £30 per week each. We have two dogs of our own and goats in fields , so we do ask that visiting dogs are sociable, well-behaved and supervised. They must not be allowed on the beds and must not be left unaccompanied for long periods of time.
