Welcome To the Old Hen House

Set in the grounds of Endean Farm, the Old Hen House in St Agnes was, in a former life, the chicken shed.

John and I moved to Endean, a four-acre smallholding, in 2004 to accommodate our expanding family - moving approximately 300 metres up the road from our previous home. Despite this short distance, in the time we had lived in our first cottage, we never knew Endean Farm existed - such is its quiet and secluded location... hidden away up a private lane, yet walking distance from the village centre. We keep rare breed sheep (Soays and North Ronaldsays), two pet goats, chickens, and two Jack Russells.

We're a 15 minute walk to the centre of St Agnes, and a touch further to the beach at Trevaunance Cove via the road or southwest coastal path. St Agnes is a great location in its own right, with three beaches, plenty of surf, shops, cafes, galleries, and restaurants, and a great community. It's also well located to visit many fantastic places across Cornwall.

We built the Old Hen House in 2008. The cottage sleeps four in two bedrooms (one kingsize double; one bunk bed) and is well-appointed with contemporary furnishings. Children and dogs are most welcome, and we'll provide a cot and highchair for our younger guests. The Old Hen House is strictly non-smoking - not even outside.

We're very happy for all our guests to come and enjoy our space, and to interact with the goats and sheep (with lambs born from late March/early April), and to collect eggs from the chickens. And we'll treat you to a complimentary Cornish cream tea on arrival, with homemade scones, and a few lovely extras throughout the week.

In all, we like to think this is a perfect spot to relax and unwind on your holiday. Feel free to call or email with any questions and to request to book. Scroll through the photos below for a flavour of what to expect.

With very best wishes

Carolyn
